Hi Joy - hate that MSNBC let you go, but since I cut the cable and am on streaming, I really can't watch it anyway. I wasn't going to subscribe to anyone more on Substack but your voluminous column today is just outstanding. Also very long and it's obvious you did a lot of work on it, so what the heck, I'll do monthly for now. You've got a lot to say and it's all very good and extremely smart. So well done and please count me as onboard.

I loved-you-to-death on MSNBC....probably why they undermined you....in my 80 years it's been apparent that Economics is a consequence of History and Economic History is a consequence of Political Power....we live in the greatest propaganda coup on the planet's timeline (advertising is the fiction that keeps on taking)....the imaginary AmRev was more about WHO would rule at home rather than HOMERULE....that part was quite successful....
as long as they needed to fill up space with bodies, the political elite (they used to be called Democrats, but now they're Republicans) brought in as much European refuse as could survive the trip....truth of the matter is....if they could have successfully enslaved the indigenous people, there wouldn't be any Africans or Asians here at all (the breeding programs would be familiar though)....
since the lie began with the theft of property, it's maintained itself through the theft of labor...."Greed is Good", morality for the little people....quite useful....the mopes just suck that sht up....
you are absolutely on target in suspecting a purpose to Trump and MAGAism's economic destruction....unfortunately, it has little to do with Economics....in Project Management we've learned that no real solution is sustainable without RCA (root cause analysis)....everything else is just a work-around of Known Errors....Americans have a rather painful introspection ahead if there's any hope of eliminating Trump and MAGAism from its brainspace.... just a thought from an old guy.👴
I have visions of those responsible for the debacle, formerly known as governance, to be stuck at a toll booth like Sonny. It is very uncomfortable for me to have this vision. I don’t know how to manage my sadness and my anger.
Joy I love the insight you provide as morbid as the truth is. I am learning more from substack (yours and other) than I ever would have gotten on MSNBC. I took quit watching because it was never as informative as these substacks are. (Truthfully there is so much to read, I need to go find a place where I can sort them all out.
I just wonder how bad things will get before we see some true resistance.
