You nailed it gal, no doubt about it! Oh yeah, he had a plan and it was brilliant (sarcasm). What a wonderful carnival barker he would have made! He has conned people all his life, fortunately I was never one of them. Unfortunately, too many people were.

Joy, I thank God for your commentary, and selfishly thank God for moving you and Don Lemon away from the restricted billionaire owned corporate media, so you’re no longer constrained to blocks. God is growing your audiences, and blessing your messaging. You ain’t seen nothing yet!!

Sad, but very well written commentary. How long do you think it's going to take before immigrants begin to deal only in cash where possible. How long before the banks and credit card companies see the reduction in customers. How long before criminals ramp up the process to sell Social Security numbers. I don't know about any of you, but my Social Security number is on the internet due to being hacked by a financial institution I dealt with indirectly (a financial institution I dealt with used another financial institution that got hacked). You may be surprised to know how many people's SS numbers are public. And, of course, the morons are shutting down all Federal agencies dealing with cybersecurity. How long before the Social Security fund is seriously reduced because immigrants are no longer paying into the system and Republicans refuse to lift the wage cap. When Democrats next have a trifecta they need to seriously repeal old laws (read Elie Mystal's new book Bad Laws) and push through legislation to help and protect people.

There are words rarely used these days that describe Trump succinctly: Charlatan, snake oil salesman, mountebank.

His only "skill," if one would call it that, is the ability to smooth talk millions into believing in him. It makes me want to scream "Wake the hell up!" but I realize that may mean those same millions will consider they must be woke, and goodness me, we can't have that.

I wish I was going to be around in 20 or 30 years when history is finally written about this slimy creature; it will be a moment when people ask how anyone could be so blind to the truth.

So glad I subscribed to your Substack, Joy. Keep up your good trouble!

Folks , we need to all restack Joy’s post and share with family and friends so her valuable news can get out . Also, please have family— especially married women- check their voter status. The only way Republicans win is by purging voter rolls.

Thank you for your substack articles - today's was so powerful - detailed, cogent, moral. There is so much that simply slips by the average American - I spend a considerable amount of time trying to keep up to date and unfortunately am constantly surprised and horrified at each new human rights violation here and abroad.

Great analogy, The Wizard of OZ used fear of his wrath, and promises of boons (that he had no way of providing ) to control people, Also, at times he presented an appearance of benevolence, yet was a manipulative con man arranging himself as the ruler of the Emerald City, a narcissist with no real capacity for empathy or remorse, The Wizard of Oz was better at feigning benevolence and empathy than trump which makes it even harder to see how he has gotten all these toadies , these sycophants to praise him. Watching trumps face light up whole taking in the false praise, as his cabinet is required to sing his praises around the table, is one of the creepiest things to watch, This feels more like a season of Black Mirror than real life, Why can’t he be stopped?
