It’s 5pm. Senator Cory Booker of NJ is 22 hours in to his filibuster. 24 hours and 18 minutes is the longest single-person filibuster in United States Senate history. That record is held by the segregationist Strom Thurmond who was filibustering against the Civil Rights Act of 1957. I don’t know if Senator Booker realizes this, but he is on the way to proving that fighting for love is stronger than fighting for hate that fighting for democracy for all is stronger than fighting for democracy for some. Whether you are religious or not, if you love democracy, if you are a true patriot, pray for Senator Booker’s mind, body, and soul to HOLD THE FLOOR.
I am supporting Senator Booker and other Members needs to do the same thing! When he’s no longer able to stand another member should be stand and keep it up to speak for the American people! Blessings
Senator CORY Booker 👏He really spoke so clearly and eloquently on all the pertinent issues (so comprehensive) and dangers we’re facing as a nation now ~ I loved how he expressed the stories of so many constituents and neighbor citizens ~ naming them AGAIN by first name (such caring warmth dignity) at the closure of a 25 hour speech ~ just incredible 🩵and all the questions which other Senators asked him and posed were so perfect and thorough ~(they really asked what the people wanted to hear answers to) well done everyone so brave and courageous ~ incredible leadership for the people ~ We The People ~ lots of marches and protests April 5 th to attend ~ find one in your state 🗣️🫶🤝🗣️use your voices 💙💜🗳️🫶🗣️👌( Thanks to everyone for caring about each other during these hard challenging days of political uncertainty) WE ARE PEOPLE WE ARE FAMILY WE ARE THE POPULATION so let’s unite and show up in numbers for democracy and free speech and our important values 📖like Public Education and Medicaid, Social Security, Public Health, Scientific Research, Food Banks, Consumer Protections, EPA, NOAA, Human Rights, Voter Rights, Preschool, Schools and Teachers, World Health, USAID, Equal Rights, LGBTQ rights, Abortion rights, Worker and Union rights, Land use, Parks, Farms and Farmers, Agriculture and Roads, Infrastructure ~even for a Stable Stock Market and Less Tariffs, Fair Taxation of the wealthy earning $500,000 or more, not the Middle and Working Class earning far less and suffering under unfair tax burden … and shouldering potential unnecessary frivolous cuts for the rich ~ STAND UP FOR THE FUTURE Generations who deserve clean air, soil, water not getting toxic exposures from global climate change ~ and who deserve economic stability and stable international relation and world order, normal diplomacy and normal living conditions within democracy of opportunity and peacefulness ~ normal life !
I have had CSPAN on all night long. I have fallen asleep at times but I am trying to stay awake to support the Senator.
